"Our New Trustees & Greetings on the 77th Independence Day 15 AUG 2023"
Before the 12th Birth Anniversary of Divya Prerna Foundation, on the 15th July 2023, we decided to enlarge our Board of Trustees from 3 to 5, and after careful evaluation, we decided on the following two persons with envious records of career success & keen interest in the Sustainable Development Missions of DPF.
The GBM/Board Meeting of the Trustees held on 02 July 2023 ratified the Induction of 1) Mr. S.seenivasagan, and 2) Ms Nirupama Sarathy in our Board of Trustees.
The Intimation to the Registrar of Central Chennai, TN Govt has been notified by our Letter dt 15th July 2023 & Intimation to the ITD, Govt. of India is being furnished by the Auditor with ITR.
Pl. pursue the Brief Profile of our New Trustees, whom we welcome with a fond hope, that their contribution will widen & enlarge DPF's Circle of Activities, Well Wishers of DPF, and the Growth of our Finances, Reach & Innovativeness of the Projects.
S. Seenivasagan , is an Electronics Professional graduated in Science from Palayamkottai St Xavier's college, followed by Electronics Engineering in the famous MIT, in Chrompet, Madras. He has served initially in DERL, Defence ElectronicsResearch Lab, Ministry of Defence, and later joined Telecom Research Centre, ND, in Dept. of Telecom, Govt. of India for about 30 years, till his retirement from Govt. service in 1997.
In TRC he did exemplary work in Indigenous design & manufacture saving huge FE for the country. In recognition DoT chose to recommend his name for the "Padma Shree" award, in 1985. He has attended many Global Conferences / Seminars like in International Telecom Union (ITU) etc. He was on the Board of Karnataka Telecom Ltd, as GoI Nominee, for 3 years.
After retirement from Govt. Service, he joined the Private Telecom Operators as a Technical Advisor, in building up their country wide Networks, including coverage of Rural India. He was also on the Board of QUEST Forum (Global Assn. of ICT Companies, to improve the quality & Sustainability of products & services), during 2008-09. In later years 2011-12, he functioned as CMD of Kits & Concepts India (P) Ltd, in Chennai, building Maths Lab & kits to spread maths concepts for school children.
He is keenly interested in Education of underprivileged rural children & in Spiritual activities. He has been following the activities of DPF closely as a Well-Wisher, over the years.
Nirupama Sarathy is a development professional and consultant based in Chennai. She brings two decades of wide and varied pan-India experience in adolescent and youth development, women’s rights and gender campaign work in diverse settings - national and international organisations, educational institutions and marginalised communities. She specializes in strategy, design and implementation of programmes for learning, life skills and leadership development, with a specific interest in issues of identity, education, and sustainability.
She has been a Board/ Founding Member of many non-profits, including Patang (Odisha), ComMutiny–The Youth Collective (Delhi), and the 16 Days Campaign (Chennai) and played multiple roles at leading youth organization, Pravah (New Delhi). She also served as Mentor to several social entrepreneurship initiatives. She led the India Country Project in ActionAid’s multi-country “Young Urban Women Project” covering Ghana, South Africa and India, and was partner Director of HCL Foundation’s “My Scholar” Scholarship & Corporate Volunteering programme. With training in Instruction Design and Participatory Facilitation, she has done a range of freelance consultancy and voluntary work with UN bodies, national and international NGOs, Central and State Government departments, as well as Corporates, on areas spanning participatory workshop & curriculum design, training & facilitation, and policy and research work.
She is a Gold medalist with a Masters in Social Work from Delhi University, in 2005, specialising in ‘Women’s Welfare & Development’ and has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Madras University. She enjoys spending spare time in nature, experimenting with healthy foods, and exploring the confluence of self development, social change and spiritual evolution, and what it means to lead a more sustainable and ‘meaningful’ life.
She actively engaged with Divya Prerna Foundation, from the organisation of the 10th Anniversary functions of DPF in 2021, doing extensive feedback assessment of the 25 projects executed all over TamilNadu & arranging the on-line Zoom meet of all the Associates, Beneficiaries of the Solar Projects & Donors spread over the Globe.
The New Trustees can contribute to the successful foray of DPF into many new areas of Projects, execution & effective Feedback, Financing etc. Mr Seenivasagan's interest in sustainable technology, work with rural telecom coverage & school students, and also involvement in spiritual activities, can promote our Divya Prerna Missions. Ms Nirupama Sarathy's involvement with Youth, Sustainability, Life Skills & Leadership development can help to widen the role & quality of our Missions.
We seek the continued encouragement & support of all our WellWishers, for the Success of Divya Prerna's Mission Projects, in the Areas of Health & Education, Lighting & Livelihoods of our under priviledged communities, in our own small & sustained steps!
