Commissioning of SOLAR POWERED DIGITAL EDUCATION & LIGHTING PROJECT TN for Kaattu Nayakkan Tribal Community, Thirupparam Kundram, MADURAI

DIVYA PRERNA FOUNDATION is a Public Charitable Trust, based in Chennai, established on the 15th July 2011. DPF attempts to promote - sustainable living, in harmony with nature, along with the enrichment of the body, mind & intellect, helping to seek spiritual enlightenment by Divine Inspiration..
As a part of our Mission for Sustainable Living, we donate & install Solar Powered Systems in Public Access locations, to demonstrate & promote the wider use of renewable energy systems.
DPF is proud to announce the commissioning of its 26th Project (P-26), the Solar Powered Digital Education & Lighting Project in Kaattu Nayakkan Tribal Colony in Thirupparam Kundram in MADURAI, by 30th December 2021.
There was a Request letter from TamilNadu Tribal Nomads Federation, President Mr M.R.Murugan dt 02 Sep2021, for provision of Solar Lights & SMART TV for helping the school children of the Community, living in an un-electrified settlement, to study. This was also supported by the letter from Mr P.R.Vishwanath, Managing Trustee of Wish To Help Charitable Trust, whose members conduct tuitions for these children.
The issues involved were discussed with Mr Nambirajan SELCO SOLAR,Madurai, who after inspection & technical evaluation, presented a Project Proposal for this Project on 2nd November 2021, with the total estimated cost over Rs 1 lakh,for the Solar System + the SMART TV & Local purchase items.
The Solar system was planned with Solar Module of 300 Wp & 2 battery sets of 100 Ahr each. A power conditioning unit of 1000VA converts the solar power to 230V AC for the TV operation. Apart from the TV we provided LED lights for the Community center hall & 2 powerful Outdoor LED lights to light up the campus front, for the children to interact & study in the campus.
The Supply, Installation of the System was successfully completed by end of December 2021. The Kaattu Nayakkan Community wanted to celebrate the Digital Education System & Lighting of their Community Centre & they organized an Inaugural Function on 19th Jan 2022, with the active support of the Wish To Help Charitable Trust. Due to the Corona regulations DPF MT could not travel to Madurai, hence participated virtually, through the SMART TV. The TV was inaugurated by Mr Nagarathinam, Professor & Head of the Dept. of Communication, Madurai Kamaraj University and he advised the students about the benefits of the system.. Mr V.ParthaSarathy, Founder & Managing Trustee, Divya Prerna Foundation, participated virtually and interacted with the students & addressed them to make full use of the SMART TV coaching, to excel in studies & aspire to occupy big positions later in life to help & improve the Community.
Mr Nambirajan, Senior Manager, SELCO SOLAR, Madurai explained the technical features & the more than a Decade of association with DPF, who have completed 26 Solar Projects so far. Mr P.R.Vishwanath, Managing Trustee, Wish To Help Charitable Trust coordinated the full function, and asked the Community members to speak. Mr Murugan, Head of the KattuNayakkan Community thanked DPF profusely for this donation, and how it will be cherished well by the community. 2 senior students Ms.Deepa & Mr.Velu thanked DPF and explained how it helps them very much. Mrs Amsavalli, mother of a student, narrated how they are getting light at night in their J.J.Nagar area after 20 long years & expressed sincere thanks to DPF & SELCO for the Solar system.
