Sun's rays, containing the life source, activate all beings on the earth. Science and Technology capture the sun's energy and light our surroundings even in the night. Meditation on the Sun (God) leads us to enlightenment through "Divine Inspiration", signified by the blooming lotus petals all around.
Sustainable Living and Selfless Giving lead one to Divine Inspiration
In 2011, V Partha Sarathy, a retired I.T.S (Indian Telecom Service) officer of Govt of India, post retirement after 36 years in service in various capacities in DoT of MoC & on the Board of TCIL, was inspired to contribute in reverence to the society at large. With a willing colleague & a veteran Social worker, he founded "Divya Prerna Foundation", as a Public Charitable Trust, in Chennai, on 15th July 2011, on the Guru Poornima day.
From a single solar lighting project to 32 major solar projects across 13 districts, impacting over 1 Lakh lives — this is the story of a 15-year journey across Sustainability, Spirituality, and Leadership.

Establishing Solar Systems mostly in Public Access Locations , like Schools, Orphanages, Hostels, Medical / Community centers etc.

Prioritising serving rural / remote regions and underserved / marginalised communities , and sought by genuine seekers

Highly innovative and contextualised solutions covering four major areas of Solar Lighting / Livelihoods / Education / Health
Community-Funded Independence
Funding mainly from our own individual contributions and that of Friends & Well-wishers / interested Donors and not relying on Govt. grants or CSR Funds.

All the projects and activities of DPF are dedicated universally to the welfare of the needy / seekers, irrespective of community, language, gender, religion, caste, etc.
Voluntary skills

Birth
Birth of Divya Prerna Foundation and registration of Trust.
Beginning
First project of DPF — solar lighting project at PV Kalathur Temple and TN Government Higher Secondary School.

Launch of DPF website.

First remote hilly terrain school lighting project in Siruvattukkadu, Kodaikanal Hills.
Recognition
DPF receives 80G certificate granting 50% exemption on donations to DPF.
Spirituality
DPF’s Second Mission on Spirituality — book launch of Panchajanyam Beckons and Shirdi Sai Baba.
Education
First solar smart class at Panchayat Union Primary School, Kopaneri, Coimbatore.
Relief
COVID-19 response and lockdown relief.
Healthcare
First 100% solar-powered 24×7 Primary Health Centre at PHC Vaigai Dam.
Decade
DPF at 10 — 10th Anniversary Celebration.
Inclusion
Solar-powered digital education and lighting project for the Kattunayakan nomadic tribal community settlement at Thiruparankundram.
Empowerment
Solar-powered flour mill for Women Self Help Group, Madurai.
Livelihood
Solar-powered E-Seva Centre for transgender community livelihood initiative at Trichy Collectorate.
Leadership
DPF’s Third Mission on Non-Formal Education launched with Youth Leadership Retreat at Desh Bhagat University, Punjab.
Expansion
DPF’s first project outside Tamil Nadu — solar lighting at Sirsi Gurukulam, Uttara Kannada, Karnataka.
