On the 26th April 2012, the Solar lighting System installed in CORD Siruvani office in Thennamanallur (a village about 30Kms from Coimbatore city) was formally inaugurated. The frequent power failures had made it very difficult to run the MedicalCentre, Tuition, Typewriting and Tailoring classes, and, interactions with villagers. Sri V Partha Sarathy, founder of Divya Prerna Foundation, an NPO located in Chennai  learnt about this from Poojya Swamini Vimalananda Head of Chinmaya Mission, Coimbatore, and decided to help in a big way. Divya Prerna Foundation planned & sponsored the installation of the necessary Solar Llighting System in CORD office, by their Associates, SELCO Solar Light Ltd, Bangalore.
